Rose Parade 2015 start time, route, TV channel info

The 126th Rose Parade will kick off on January 1, 2015 at 8:00 AM PST in Pasadena, California.

With the theme “Inspiring Stories”, the parade is expected to go on for 2 1/2 hours. The Rose Parade will absolutely be the biggest attraction on New Year’s Day not only in Pasadena, but also around the country by viewing on their television screens.

The Rose Parade route will start on the corner of Green Street and Orange Grove Boulevard. With the floats, bands and equestrians filling up the route, they will turn onto Colorado Boulevard. Going to the end of the route, the parade will turn north onto Sierra Madre Boulevard, just before ending at Villa Street in Pasadena.

The Rose Parade is televised live in the U.S. on ABC, NBC, HGTV, KTLA5, Univision, Red TV, Family Net, Sky Link, and the Hallmark Channel.

Just to continue the tradition, the 2015 Rose Parade features floral floats, marching bands, and equestrian units as they walk through the 5 1/2 mile route on New Year’s Day.

The floats are made up of natural materials like flowers, leaves, seeds or bark. Float making is becoming a multi-million dollar business, according to the official website of Tournament of Roses.

Millions of spectators are expected to watch and line up along the streets to view the parade.

Adding into the spectacle would be the Grand Marshall for the Rose Parade 2015 is Louis Zamperini, Olympian and World War II prisoner. Despite of him passing away, the Tournament of Roses honors him as the Grand Marshal of the Parade.

After the Rose Parade, another big event in Pasadena is the Rose Bowl Game. This is the 101st Rose Bowl Game which start at 5:00 PM PT.

In the Rose Bowl Game, the first ever college football playoff will take place between Oregon and Florida State. Absolutely, in the past this was the home of the winner of the Pac 12 and the Big Ten, who were used of getting the matchups. Not new to the Rose Bowl are the Ducks who will try to stop the Seminoles in having another national title appearance.

The Rose Bowl game will be broadcast live on ESPN.
